Here is a quick and easy Christmas card using the Big Shot Stampin' Up Snowflake die and the large Scallop Circle die. I covered the snowflake with Dazzling Diamonds glitter using a liquid glue pen. Topped it off with a rhinestone brad...Done. I am up at the Kern River and the weather is just beautiful but internet service is very frustrating! My lap top keeps disconnecting ...ARGGGGHHH..I have tried to post this 3 times. Needless to say 45 min later...I purposely put a couple pics on mylaptop to upload but this is taking way toooooooo longggggg. Happy Shopping!

One of the Pazzles Design Team projects for Sep. was to design 2 titles for a new CD coming out in the future. Boy were mine polar opposites!! I went from Babies to Halloween. Anyway the frightfully good time one uses lime green Stickles for the runny green slime on the caps of the letters. Also the pen tool was used for the lettering on the head stones. The clothes line "Baby" uses the "kiss cut" to define the outline of the onesie with a border. Isn't the baby one cute! They will be on an upcoming CD sometime in the future.

Secret Message Card

This is a unique card...called a Secret Message card. You open it one way and figure out how to open it the other way and you have a whole different card. This was one of the many cards on the Pazzles Greeting Cards CD that we used for our Sep. Design Team projects. If I were to make another one I would use one less cut/fold, See the prple alternating with the black...there would only be 3 alternating instead of 4. Oh...and don't put your glue in the wrong place either...yup learned the hard way!
Don't Mess With A Man And His Truck

This was my Pazzles Design Team project for August. We were supposed to design something about "Guys". I used the "kiss cut" quite a bit for the detail in the truck. I took a generic picture off the web and hand vectorized the image. The windows are made out of vellum. The grill and rims were silver metalic paper. I used a Stampin'Up tire tread wheel on the tires. All the growth under the truck was stamped with Judith & Heather stamps. The pictures I used were from the Toby Keith concert I had been to recently and Toby always has a FORD Truck front grill on his stage. The pictures were taken when he was singing "American Soldier" The title of this page has a story behind it other than Toby's pictures.....Well this summer I borrowed a friends truck to haul some molding, plumbing and general home improvement stuff. This is a work truck that stinks of working man and smoke...get my drift...yuk. The truck was my friend's "Baby". I used the truck for 6 hours driving 1.5 hours each way up and back a winding road to get the supplies needed (mind you supplies both of us needed) . I get back and proceed to get an earfull of nastiness. I had put molding through the back sliding window to fit it in the bed of the truck. (Big Sarcasm in this next sentence!) Oh My it was touching the head liner in the stinky truck! Oh was he pissed off...not even hearing that I had held down the molding with my heavy purse so it would not hit/bounce off the headliner while I drove his "Baby" . I drove that truck so carefully and nicely compared to how I beat up my jeep. Men!!! Jeez!!! Goodness sakes I would have replaced the headliner if I ripped it, but I did not, I was careful! Never, Never, Never mess with a man's truck especially if there is alcohol and a temper involved!! Also I have known this friend for over 35 years!!! ARGGHH!

Here is the project I did for the July Pazzles Design Team.....Did I say July?? Yup we have to keep everything we do to ourselves for at least 30 days when we submit our projects and designs. This one was using the Swirls and Twirls CD that is available from Pazzles. We also had to make a matching little project to go along with the scrap page. I chose to do a small coaster book that I bound with my Coil Mac. I love the picture of my Husky sleeping on her back. She used to do that when she would sleep on my waterbed.

Take your White Signo Pen and mark corner marks to line up the place to put your fold line. If your eyes have a hard time seeing the edges this will help speed things up and straighten out the cuts.

Matching Fall Pennant Banner

Using the Sizzix again.....This a cute banner I made to match my all Sizzix Fall Scrapbook page. This time using the exclusive "Shelli" Bigz XL Pennant die. The letters are just as glittery as the Scrapbook page. I used Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip and Autumn Vine DSP. Tied it up with Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate Chip grosgrain ribbon. In between are the large SU brads to hold it all together. The dangle that hangs down was made with the flowers from the Pennant die. I used a hat pin and pearl from the Pretties Kit along with a little tie of gold hanging from a small gold brad.

Whooo Hoooo I figured out how to do my own .GIF Blinky today! Also how to add it to my sidebar linking it to my Stampin' Up site. not as easy as I would have liked it to be. I am not savvy in HTML but muddled my way through. Making the Blinky was easy...It was the rest that took time. Even adding it to this post was a bit complicated. Gotta Love the internet If you search in the right places you can learn sooo much.!

Fall Scrapbook Page

Fall is definitely here! So Cal is getting their hot spells with termites flying! Leaves are changing everywhere. And the best part is the kids are back in school!! Now I don't have any human kids but my neighbors do.....Parking is ugly in the summer with the teenagers who also speed into their prospective parking spots and the younger ones are well...just plain loud. Don't get me wrong, these kids are all basically great kids but not being a human parent, my tolerance level for their kind of noise is low. I do all of my crafting and graphics without music or sound.....so Fall to me is back to piece and quiet. The funny thing is I can ignore barking dogs and can identify every dog bark or howl in the neighborhood... Go figure I guess I am a doggy mommy!OK back to Fall and my all Stampin' Up Big Shot Fall scrapbook page. I put various colors of SU Earthly Elements & Rich Regals cardstock run through my Xyron 250 onto chipboard. Then I cut them into squares. Using my Sizzix Serif Essentials (*steel rule) Alphabet dies I cut out the word FALL. Then using the Leaves #2 (*steel rule) die, I cut out lots of leaves. Then using the Sizzlets Swirly die (**acid etched) I cut out the cute Swirly "branch". Using my SU dye inks and a sponge section, I inked all the edges and middles of all the leaves, branch and letters to make them look like real fall colors in leaves. Then I took an embossing tool and lightly scored leaf line veins on the diecut leaves. This left me with a pattern to follow for what comes next.

Next bring out the Stickles glitter glue. I used Cinnamon, Golden Rod, Copper, Platinum, Holy and Burgundy Stickles for all my Fall colors. Draw very fine lines of Stickles over your edges and scored leaf veins. Same with your Swirl "branch". Then I put dollops of Stickles on my Fall letters. Taking my fingers I swirled my colors all over, giving a very shiny and blingy look to my letters. I let all the Stickled stuff dry overnight. Using a piece of SU Autumn Vine DSP, I ripped the edge piece using the SU tearing edge ruler to get a distressed edge under my "branch" and leaves. The base is Creamy Caramel. Using the SU exclusive "Top Note" (*steel rule) die I cut out the photo areas of Autumn Vine DSP. This actually was a very easy and simple page to put together. The dry time took the longest. I will gladly hold a class for this cute page or send out a kit if anyone is interested.
* Steel rule dies are thicker and sharper. They are able to cut many pieces of paper at once. They are able to cut many different types of product materials. Sizzix Originals and Bigz are steel rule dies. Accucut also makes steel rule dies that work in their machines and they are much more expensive.
** Acid Etched dies are thin breakable dies. They should only cut one piece of paper/cardstock at a time.

Sizzix 20 Year Embosslet Die Cut & Pin

Aren't these great! Using the shiniest
gold and silver cardstock I could find, I used the new SU 20 year Sizzix embosslet to make these cute little diecut stickers. After running them through the Xyron 250, I put them on all my catalogs I handed out.
Next I took the scallop punch and punched out 3 chipboard "backs" and glued these on to one of the silver die cuts. I inked the edges with a silver pen, then glued a pin backing on it. Doesn't this make the cutest pin for my special "Shelli" Design apron. Which you can now get as a demo using your Great Rewards points.

Baby Books Part 2- Helping a friend

Don't you just love the name Audrey for a little girl! Here is the second Baby Book that my friend wanted to do with my "help". I think this one turned out much cuter then the first one. I guess I am much fonder of the SU Cherry DSP then Deb's original pick of papers for the first Baby Book. This time my "help" was much less, The choice of papers and matching goodies were much easier to match and pick from this time around. Of course I had to do a title on my Pazzles. When I first was learning my Pazzles I found this great font that had cherries and of course I had to turn it into a diecut. This cherry paper and diecut were made for each other. The mom this baby book is made for is not really a pink kind of gal, she is more of a 1950's style with the dark black hair ........cute like "rosie the riveter". Ok.....only 2 or three more baby books...If only I could talk her into using one of the Simply Scraping Kits!. See the last BabyBook post for all the tools and where the inspiration came from.

Isn't this just the cutest! It seems to be a very popular item for Candy Jars, Candle Holders, Windows & Walls! I put mine on a candle holder I purchased at Big Lot's a few months ago. The candy corn candles inside of the holder are from lluminations.... on sale 25% off right now too!! Much better than putting real candy corn in with a candle... (I would eat the candy corn-not good) The little furry spidies are from Illuminations also. My friend and I split a package of the little creatures!

Deb's Baby Book 1: The Story:
I have a friend that is what I call a HOARDER... she has all the items to create lots of crafty things BUT never uses them.... We all know what that means.. she has talent but needs a bit of coaching to start something and finish it. Yup we are both procrastinators! Now I am a very knowledgeable crafter that has been doing this for a long time...also I am a bit meticulous with my cards as in no crooked cuts or catty-whompus stamped images. She on the other hand has a different more relaxed view on things... like crooked is OK and certain off papers mixed and matched are OK. Now we come to the day that I "coached" her with this book. Compromise; that was the key word. Working with the papers she wanted to pick from and adding some of my Stampin' Up papers was the challenge for that evening! But look how cute it came out! Many of the items we used were from her stash of goodies but I added a few die cut items either designed by me from my Pazzles or from the Stampin' Up exclusive Big Shot. The album was scored using my Scor-Pal and bound together with my Coil-Mac 41. We also covered the front and back using GBC transparent covers that I purchased from Staples. The original book was a design I found on Patty Bennetts blog and from Splitcoast Stampers website.
